The WashU Generative AI Environment is designed to support researchers, clinicians, students, instructors, and administrators with the cutting-edge AI tools that are currently revolutionizing our landscape and making possible what once seemed like mere science fiction.

Generative AI at WashU is driven by the Digital Intelligence & Innovation Accelerator, born out of the Digital Transformation initiative of the university’s new ten-year Here & Next strategic plan, in strong partnership with WashU Information Technology.

Dr. Philip Payne, Chief Data Scientist for WashU Medicine and chair of the universitywide Digital Transformation initiative, and Jessie Minton, Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and CIO, provide the university with joint leadership around artificial intelligence.

Faculty and staff representing interests across the institution provide oversight and governance on generative AI matters.

Already, emerging AI technologies are being put to great use right here at WashU.
